Heidi Klum awarded “Fashion” BAMBI

Heidi Klum will be receiving this year’s BAMBI for “Fashion”

Heidi Klum’s skills extend beyond simply presenting fashion on the catwalk. She takes the most exciting aspects of the fashion world – the movers and shakers and the models – and turns them into perfect television, with herself as the ideal host.

Heidi Klum was discovered in 1992 at a modelling competition launched in conjunction with the TV show “Gottschalk Late Night”. Her modelling career has taken her all over the world, to the front covers of the biggest fashion magazines and to the most important catwalks. She made headlines in 1999 when she began modelling for Victoria’s Secret, and 11 years later when their collaboration came to an end. She presents and produces “Germany’s Next Top Model” on ProSieben and the US show “Project Runway”, which counts an Emmy among its many awards. She is also a judge on “America’s Got Talent”. She pours her flair for fashion into her lingerie line and also designs children’s collections, sportswear, shoes and jewellery. And this is why Heidi Klum will be receiving this year’s BAMBI for “Fashion”.

The jury explains: “A German top model of international renown, Heidi Klum unites the worlds of fashion and entertainment. She believes that fashion should be fun, and demonstrates this both on the red carpet and on her shows ‘Germany’s Next Top Model’ and ‘Project Runway’. Heidi Klum frequently updates her social networks with new photos, tells her fans all about her life and invites them to comment on her appearances and outfits. On her shows, she teaches talented young models to present themselves and their clothes to best effect and encourages young designers to fight for the top prize. Such extraordinary success would be almost inconceivable had she not gathered so much experience of the fashion world, experience that no academy could provide.”

BAMBI, Germany’s most important media award and one of the biggest events in its social calendar, will take place in Berlin on 12 November 2015. Television channel “Das Erste” will broadcast the show live from the Stage Theater, Potsdamer Platz at 20:15.
