Baumgartner: "Millennium" BAMBI
In October this year, the Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner completed a spectacular stunt by jumping from a height of 39 kilometres (24 miles) at a speed of up to 1342 kilometres per hour (834 miles per hour). Baumgartner is being awarded the BAMBI 2012 Award in the category of "Millennium" for this unique achievement.

From a phantom to a phenomenon:Cro, the man with the panda mask, is being awarded the BAMBI 2012 Award in the category of "German Pop" at the BAMBI Award Ceremony in the German city of Düsseldorf.
BAMBI for Beach Volleyball Players
This summer, Germany's best beach volleyball players Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann achieved what seemed impossible by beating the world champions from Brazil in front of millions of spectators. The Olympic champions will receive the BAMBI Award in the category of "Sport".
